Andy Murray eager to secure victory at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship – Tennis News
British number one, Andy Murray, had the most successful tennis career in 2012 and he is struggling hard to secure the top spot in the next season. He has drastically improved as a tennis professional, looking forward to a thrilling
Mubadala World Tennis Championship voyage at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex in the Zayed Sports City.
In an interview Murray said, “Since the Olympics I just feel a bit better about myself. I find it easier to walk around with my head up, whereas before I was always head down, not wanting anyone to see me or say anything. Maybe
I felt that having lost in Grand Slam finals I was letting whoever it was down. I know I had been reminded every day for the last six years that it’s this long since someone from our country won a Slam. So there was part of me probably that felt a little bit
of responsibility. It’s nice not to have worry.”
The 25-year-old professional will be playing his first match with the Serbian challenger, Janko Tipsarevic on the 27th December and if he qualifies, he will be contesting against the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal, in the
semi-finals on the 28th December. There is a great possibility that he will make it until the final round and might even win if he continues at the same pace.
The right-hander has struggled hard to achieve his current mark and become one of the top tennis contenders. He achieved his break through after the Wimbledon Championships final against the Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer. He bagged
away a gold medal in a men’s single category and had his first big jump. Furthermore, he won a silver medal in the mixed doubles category with his compatriot, Laura Robson.
The Scot completely silenced his critics after consolidating a five sets victory, 7-6(10), 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, 6-2 against the Serbian number one, Novak Djokovic, on the hard courts of New York at the US Open Grand Slam Championships.
He is practicing hard to face the might of the more experienced professionals at the exhibition tournament. He is undergoing a tough training by his coach Ivan Lendl and his trainer Jez Green.
