Andy Murray eyes the Grand Slam trophy at the US Open 2012 – Tennis News
World number four, Andy Murray, once again enters the race for claiming the maiden Grand Slam Championships of his career at the US Open in New York. However, he enters with utmost courage and enthusiasm having put forth a heroic
performance at the London Olympics by claiming the gold medal at the expense of the reigning world number one, Roger Federer, who is the biggest threat to Murray’s Grand Slam glory.
The number one Briton was just a victory away from claiming the first Grand Slam title at the All England Lawn Tennis Club when he squared off against the Swiss Maestro in the final at his native soil. However, the dreams of the
Scot superstar were shattered into pieces by the evergreen Swiss star who clinched his seventh Wimbledon Championships winning the match in four sets and exposing the Briton to another array of criticism.
Year’s final Grand Slam Championship, the US Open, will begin from the 27th of August and the son of Judy Murray will launch his campaign on the first day of the tournament. Ivan Lendl who is coaching the Scot these
days stated, “I didn't have to come here for practices. So out of the 14 days I was here seven times. That is a great help because it's very taxing physically and mentally to be here. Just being home, you're not relying on anybody's schedules except your own.
You finish, you jump in the pool and play with your dogs, have lunch on the table, take a nap, go and play golf, whatever you please to do."
There might be lack of practice for Murray because his coach is in Florida these days but the enthusiasm and willpower to defy the odds and claim the Grand Slam trophy is always there. He will be accompanied his gorgeous girlfriend,
Kim Sears, who awaits the first Major title of his boy so that she can hear a proposal of marriage from the 24-year-old Briton.
The tough is difficult but the courage of the gold medallist is at its peak. There is no good time to commence the professional tennis back after a sublime run at Olympics.
