Andy Murray improving under coaching of Ivan Lendl – Tennis News
British number one, Andy Murray, is struggling hard to retain his rank in the “Big Three”. After the arrival of his coach, Ivan Lendl, he had drastically improved himself as tennis professional and became the first player after 76 years to secure a Grand
Slam trophy for Great Britain.
The former American professional is renowned for his remarkable persistence and calm game plan. Similar to Murray, he lost his initial four Grand Slam finals but once he constructed his winning momentum and there was no turning back.
The Czech hardly displayed his anger or over excitement in front of his rivals, and maintained a safe edge from a lot unwanted criticism. As a coach, he has helped the young Scot mature to a great degree and helped him to acquire the art of perfection. One
of his first lessons Murray was to have a command on his emotions during the match as it brings along positive force for the player.
Murray said, “Exactly. I think we're sort of learning from Lendl a little bit. I don't know if it's disbelief or whatever. I'm very, very happy on the inside. I'm sorry if I'm not showing it as you would like. You try to make sure you don't get too excited
on the court, never get too high, and never get too down. I needed to try and be a bit more stable on the court, not be so emotional.”
Under the guidance of Lendl, Murray battled until the final round of the Wimbledon Championships. In the final round, he suffered from a four set loss at the hands of the Swiss professional, Roger Federer. The British professional, avenged his former loss
from the former world number one in the final round of the London 2012 Olympics. Further, he proved his potential by winning a silver medal in the mixed doubled category, with his compatriot, Laura Robson.
He played with extreme dedication and progressed at remarkably high speed. He delivered extreme professionalism. He has become more serious and durable, keenly eyeing on the courts of competitive tennis to bag away the world number one spot.
