Andy Murray is enjoying his current freedom
Murray is finally having fun. In fact, the Scott after winning the Rogers Cup 2010 admitted that it was at times even better to play on your own without the services of a coach.
"I am really enjoying my freedom at the moment. It’s been just a weeks ago that I sacked my coach and what is amazing is the fact that I have been playing some of my career’s best tennis since then. I cannot say anything if it’s all because of my freedom or whatever. The only thing I can say for sure at the moment is that my game has improved to great heights since Wimbledon”, said Murray.
Born on 15 May 1987 in Glasgow, Andy Murray is a professional tennis player who is currently ranked number four in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals. Great Britain’s top tennis player was listed at the number two spot in world rankings from 17 August to 31 August, 2009. The 23-year-old Murray jumped into the top ten rankings for the very first time in April, 2007. The right handed has so far made his way into a total of two major final events - the United States Open 2008 along with the Australian Open 2010 - ending as runners up to Roger Federer on both occasions.
The London resident is fond of playing on hard courts. However Murray has worked really hard over the years which is why he can now play equally well on clay surfaces too.
As far as his recent performances are concerned, Andy Murray has recently won the Rogers Cup 2010 after defeating Roger Federer in the final battle on Sunday. The right handed is really excited to play his first match at the ATP Cincinnati Masters on Wednesday.
When asked about the appointment of new coach, the Scott said that he is in no hurry at all to take any such decision at the moment. It is because Murray will only consider coaches after the U.S. Open which starts on 30 August.
When asked about the possibilities of a new coach, Murray who defeated Rafael Nadal in the semi-final of Canadian Open in Toronto and world number two Roger Federer in the final, commented, “I will participate at the upcoming final Grand Slam of the event without any coach and after that I will seriously think about it. I am in no rush to pick up any one randomly. It is a very important decision. We spend most of our time with our trainers and coaches therefore; I want that relationship to last for as long as possible. It is not an easy decision I will have to think and then take a decision after various considerations”.
Murray while commenting on his current status said, “Well, it is actually good in a variety of ways to play without any coach as no one else is responsible for everything happened on the court other than you”.
Andy, who captured a total of six trophies last year, claimed his very first title of this season in Toronto. He will play his opening match at the ongoing Cincinnati Masters against Frenchmen Jeremy Chardy, who defeated Germany's Florian Mayer in his first round clash. The final match score was 6-2, 7-6 (7/4).
Murray said his form and game is in excellent shape at the moment and he is all set to participate in the warm up events prior to the final major of the season.
"I am feeling hundred percent fit and that is the most significant thing and I am really looking forward to continue my form at the Cincinnati Masters as well”.
