Andy Murray is extremely angry at the negative criticism – Tennis News
World number four, Andy Murray, was recently tagged as a “drama queen” by the former tennis superstar, Virginia Wade. This comment was made when the Briton superstar called his physio at the court to receive a medical treatment
in the second round clash against Jarkko Nieminen.
However, the Scot has bashed the haters stating, “I think eight painkilling injections in your back before the French Open justifies a genuine injury. If someone is going to say to me my back injury is not genuine, they can come
see my reports from the doctors; they can see the pictures of a needle about eight inches long in my back. I'm not accepting criticism anymore because it's not fair.”
Nine-time Grand Slam Champion, John McEnroe, boldly claimed that Murray’s problems were just a ‘mental thing’ and the same comment was made by one of the television commentators during the match. So, it seems like people are finding
it difficult to swallow the fact that the Briton is playing well enough but often requires physical treatments for apparently no reason.
Murray, on the other hand, has disapproved all the claims stating, “Often when things do start to get better, for a little while you can be over-sensitive in that area and think, 'Oh, is that not right?' but with my back problem,
it's something that's there."
The Briton is already very frustrated to have been handed a very tough draw in the opening round of the Wimbledon Championship. He will go head-to-head with the former world number three, Nikolay Davydenko, of Russia.
It is just a matter of time for the Briton before he will shut down all his critics with his performances and not with his talks. He is going through a pathetic run of form at the moment and the negative feedback with a flock of
criticism is further dismantling his state of mind. He has a chance to prove his worth to the world by winning a maiden Grand Slam Championship at his home soil in London. He will have to fight a lot of contenders that are strongly linked with the title; however,
upsets do happen and playing in front of the home crowd makes it a lot easier.
No one is sure that Murray is doing some acting or is it a mental thing or is it for real? However, one thing is for sure that all the will be written off if the Briton manages to lift the Wimbledon trophy next month.
