Andy Murray is satisfied by the scheduling of matches away from Centre Courts – Tennis News
World number four, Andy Murray, accepted the scheduling of his match away from Centre Court; in fact he stated that only the legendary tennis icon, the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer, deserves to contest all his matches on the Centre
Court.
Murray will contest his quarter-final match against the Spanish number two, David Ferrer, at Court One on the eve of Wednesday. It will be an enthralling battle and considering the upset that Ferrer registered in the quarter-final
of the year’s second Grand Slam Championships, The Roland Garros French Open.
The Scot will look to keep his calm and power down the Spaniard but it will not be an easy contest just like it was against the 16th seed Croatian, Marin Cilic, in the fourth round where Murray picked up straight sets
triumph 7-5, 6-2, 6-3.
Referees seem to be biased in their scheduling of the matches in the favour of the reigning world number one, Novak Djokovic. However, the Briton number one was not unhappy by the decisions at all. He stated, “It’s not just me.
There are lots of guys in exactly the same position. Anyone will tell you if you play four matches in eight days, it’s better than playing four matches in five or six days. The more rest you can get the better, but its part of playing grand slam tennis.”
He further added, “I don’t think you should get preferential treatment. You know, obviously, all of the players would say they would rather play on Centre, because they know they’re going to finish their match. I don’t deserve
to play all my matches on Centre Court. Someone like Roger does.”
It seems like Murray is focused on the main task of winning Grand Slam title at Wimbledon this time around and doesn’t want to engage in any other controversies. He has already witnessed a lot of criticism in the recent days about
his attitude at the court and special treatments during the match that are thought to be bogus. However, at the moment he looks on course to win a title and Wednesday night’s test will unleash all his capabilities for sure.
