“Andy Murray needs to find it within himself” says former Coach Brad Gilbert
According to tennis experts, British number one tennis ace Andy Murray should not blame his coach Brad Gilbert of not helping him well enough in reaching the top rankings in the world. In fact, he himself is responsible of making his relationship with Gilbert a little complicated as a result of spending too much time with him.
After a period of two complete years, Murray has now realized the fact that the team concept no longer works. Therefore, he also sacked Coach Miles Maclagan this week and will once again search for another one.
The question is what does the Scott look for in a coach?
At the moment, all his initiatives are simply adding to the proof that he is unable to grasp the situation at hand. The top ranked Brit just keeps on changing his coaches in spite of the fact that he is performing pretty well over the past few months. His foot work, game plan, power, fitness as well as placement of his strokes on all kinds of surfaces have greatly improved over the months.
The actual problem with the right handed Murray is that he has yet not been able to win the bigger tournaments around the world on a consistent basis. Blaming the coach for all the bad performances might not be the best policy after all.
As a result, Andy Murray and Roger Federer have decided to team up at the Australian Open as both of them have not managed to grab a major victory this season.
However, the difference in the decision of both these players lies in their approaches. The Swiss tennis master Roger Federer took this step in order to regain his lost charm and form prior to the United States Open. This decision on Federer’s part shows his willingness and determination that the greatest tennis player of all times has not given up yet and is set to come back strongly and grab some more major titles prior to his retirement from the professional game of tennis.
On the other hand, Andy Murray is only making a mound out of a mole hill.
"It is actually good to think a lot in order to get the root cause of the problem”, Murray said. "In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the way I am playing over the past few months. All I need to do is to get far more accurate and consistent in my performances as this is the only thing which is affecting my results in the end, over the recent past”, Murray said.
Although, there is no doubt about the fact that Andy Murray has improved his game a great deal over the past few months. However, the Brit at times still waits for his opponent on the court to commit a mistake and that is the area that Murray needs to work on instead of changing his coaches every now and then.
No matter how many coaches he hire’s, but Murray won’t reach the top spot until he works on his own game and finds it within himself instead of wasting his time in playing video games for as long as seven hours as disclosed by Gilbert after being sacked by Murray.
The Scottish tennis ace, Andy Murray needs to practice more, in order to win a major title this year. Only changing his coaches won’t work if his entire life style as well as his approach towards his game, which he thinks is pretty much perfect, remains the same.
Certainly, there is no doubt in the minds of the experts as far as his talent and sporting flair is concerned. However, the only thing required at the moment is to polish it and utilize it well to grab the big titles instead of blaming his trainers, coaches or the entire team. They can only suggest him but no one can change his fate unless he himself works hard and proves his talent by shinning on the court.
