Andy Murray plans to spend ‘Christmas’ at home – Tennis News
World number three, Andy Murray, is planning to enjoy his time at the yearend during ‘Christmas’ but nothing special has been planned by him. He wants to stay at home and give time to his family, friends and more importantly his
girlfriend, Kim Sears, who deserves to be with her love after a hectic season on the Association of Tennis Professional Tours.
Last two months of the year are a blessing in disguise for tennis superstars who grind their body and travel from place to place to contest in different tournaments. It is always a pleasure especially for top seeded players who
spend most of the time of the year playing tennis and devote less time to their loved ones. Hence, the holiday at the season end is a way out to wipe off all distances and attach with family and friends.
The Guardian took a casual interview from the third ranked Briton who broke a duck of Grand Slam titles at the US Open Championship in New York. He spoke to them and is quoted to have said, “I haven't taken a holiday the last few
years because I've gone straight from Miami (where he does his warm-winter training) to Australia (for the Open).”
He further added, “This year we will take a holiday, then I'll spend a few days at home over Christmas, for the first time in a few years. I speak to Kim about where to go and we try to find the most convenient place for the time
we've got – somewhere that's not a real hassle to get to. That, for me, is important because we do a lot of travelling. I don't really want to go somewhere where it's three or four flights away.”
Murray confessed that travelling around the globe is definitely a part of the tennis professional but enjoying each tour and several cities is not incorporated during the tournaments. The schedule is very tight. Each player often
have to appear once at the court to have a match and after an encounter it is increasingly difficult to prepare the body for a trip and then find a time to recover the stamina for the next clash.
The number one Briton is happy to spend some time home with his loved ones so that he can divert his attention from tennis court and live few moments of his life that will definitely be cherished when he grows old.
