Andy Murray still struggles from the knee injury – Tennis News
World number four, Andy Murray, has again hinted at a recurring injury that has been bothering him for a long period of time. He stated that he was struggling badly in the third round clash of Wimbledon Championships against the Cypriot tennis ace, Marcos Baghdatis, especially in the latter half of the match. The mystery of Murray winning with utmost distress is still unresolved, however, this is his new way of tackling the ongoing criticism or maybe he is actually struggling this time around.
He stated to the British Broadcasting Corporation officials, “I was very nervous. I knew it was going to be tough. I was just kind of hustling my way through the match and I am going to need to play better, if I want to go deep into the tournament. I was really struggling.”
Briton number one further added, “My knee was a little bit sore. I took a tumble towards the end of the second set, I slipped and my foot went from underneath me and when I cooled down a little bit, when we had the break with the roof, it was a little bit stiff. I had the physio work on it and put some tape on it and it was ok.”
Murray's injury seems like everlasting and he is struggling on regular basis with that knee. It’s high time for the Scot tennis professional to have a proper treatment of his knee; otherwise he might have to face lethal consequences and one of the biggest one could be a premature end to his tennis era.
He further stated that it was extremely annoying to be treated now and then by the physio on the pitch. It was not the first occasion he had a treatment during the match. It has been happening since the start of the clay court season. So, it is also very agonizing for the spectators who have to wait for quite a long time before seeing the action back on.
Next up for Murray is the Croatian number one, Marin Cilic, who is pumped up to upset the Scot and make it to the round of last eight at Wimbledon Championships.
