‘Andy Pettitte’ pitching in Rangers’ uniform?
Major League Baseball is thriving in the off season period and while players are preparing themselves for the coming season, ball clubs across the National League and the American League are looking to restructure their rosters
for the coming challenge that starts off in April, 2011. The free agency is abuzz with trades and player signings, as teams are looking to fill out requirements in their organizational goals. Every team is counting its chances for the playoffs and only time
can tell which right set of stars will lead their team to glory, next year.
It doesn’t seem like fans have seen enough of Andy Pettitte, yet. The 38 year old pitching maestro has been on a run for the clouds to do his best in major league baseball. However, when the off season came through this year, the
ball thrower claimed his days were numbered and there was a slim chance to return to the competition. The New York Yankees have been hosting the player in their pitching rotation for a very long time but it seems now they’re not willing to negotiate an expensive
contract with the man who took home $11.5 million in 2010.
The Yankees have not offered arbitration to Pettitte and that indicates the notion that they aren’t willing to consolidate to a pay increase. The club has been after Cliff Lee, lately and that spells a change in tactical preference
for the strong East side ball club. Andy’s figures from the regular season depicted a 3.28 earning runs average in over 21 match starts.
Recent development in Andy’s story are taking place at the moment and it’s the Texas Rangers who are leading the news this time. Pettitte is based near Deer Park, Texas and this depicts an opportunity for the 2010 American League
champions to lure in the veteran to their side, given the possibility that they might lose Cliff Lee to the Yanks on the other hand.
The weird twist of faith scenario could occur and as many do see awkward incidents occurring in the circuit of Major League Baseball, there is no telling how true this news piece is. The New York Daily News has come out with the
report that Rangers’ President, Nolan Ryan contacted the veteran recently. There is no question that such a claim can be true and seeing how the Texans will not lose the right to draft pick with the deal coming through, the ball player may actually move to
the Rangers Ballpark for the 2011 season.
