Andy Pettitte will pitch again for New York Yankees, signs one year deal – MLB Update
The New York Yankees' veteran starting pitcher Andy Pitcher has one more year to show his extraordinary skills in Major League Baseball.
He recently signed a one-year deal with the Yankees worth $12 million giving his fans a delight as well. Yankees finally played their cards right and brought back Andy Pettitte for another year.
Earlier, Yankees' management was little cautious when they potentially thought giving one more chance to Pettitte. However, now even before going into Major League annual meetings, the New York Yankees’ front office decided to offer a lucrative deal to their experienced pitcher.
In a news conference Pettitte said, “It’s a deal where if you want to be successful as you want to be, got to be 100 percent sold out to it. CC (Sabathia) said he was going to start giving it to me pretty good if we didn’t get something worked out.”
"I think we agreed on a deal before Thanksgiving and the Yankees made it very easy on me, My agent called me and said ‘Hey this is what we got. I don’t think they’re doing anything else.’ And I agreed,'' said Pettitte on his re-signing with the Yankees after playing a well spirited last season.
Pettitte had a tough last season with the New York Yankees. He came out from early retirement and finished with 2.87 ERA along with 5-4 win-loss, 69 strike-outs and 1.14 WHIP.
Pettitte, despite coming out from his retirement, he still performed with big heart and showed his enormous power.
His past experience and consistent performance is the main reason why Yankees have brought him back in the roster. His career 3.86 ERA along with 245-142 win-loss, 2320 strike-outs and 1.35 WHIP also makes him a good role player in the Major League Baseball.
Experts believe that the signing of Andy Pettitte with the New York Yankees is a healthy sign and this new beginning will prove a more productive factor in the near future.
Many also believe that Pettitte is a highly talented individual and will be performing with his best abilities next season.
