Andy Schleck's to test his form at the Brabantse Pijl
Andy Schleck of Team Luxembourg is amongst the top cyclists that have struggled to find form in the 2012 season.
The cyclist is currently warming up for the Ardennes Classics after facing disappointment during the first quarter of the season.
Andy’s next big race of the season is Brabantse Pijl and he is optimistic to find form during the event.
He briefed that the clear picture of his form ahead of the Ardennes Classics will be revealed during the Brabantse Pijl 2012.
Schleck cited, "It's an important test. I'm here to get good kilometres done. It's my first Classic. It's going to be a race in a strong peloton so I want to see where I stand today”.
"I think I have chances to be in the front. My condition improved a lot in the last weeks. In Paris-Nice I was sick and after that I was training a lot”.
“I did the Circuit de la Sarthe and that was okay so I hope to be good. I'm not sure at all about it (his form) because I haven't raced so much”.
Andy’s biggest goal of the season is the Tour de France 2012, a race he finished at the second position in the past season.
The cyclist rode brilliantly but had to bow before the mighty Cadel Evans. The Australian overcame Schleck with an impressive overall margin of 1 minute and 34 seconds.
Andy finished at the second position for the third consecutive season.
However, he was awarded with the first overall position after the disqualification of Alberto Contador from the Tour de France 2010.
The 26-year-old finished at the 13th overall spot after the UCI World Tour rankings as of 2011. He secured a total number of 252 UCI points after his terrific performance in the past season.
Team RadioShack-Nissan currently holds the 6th overall spot after the current UCI Teams rankings.
Chris Horner (96), Fabian Cancellara (86), Tiago Machado (72), Jan Bakelants (40) and Daniele Bennati (33) helped the team with a total number of 327 points.
Only time will tell if Andy can find his last year’s winning momentum at the Brabantse Pijl and the much awaited Ardennes Classics 2012.
