Andy Schleck dropped out of US Pro Cycling Challenge 2012
Andy Schleck has not raced much in the current season mainly because of his knee injury and will also miss the USA Pro Cycling Challenge 2012.
Team RadioShack-Nissan will also miss the services of Frank Schleck who has been suspended for doping at the Tour de France 2012.
Team announced in a press release, "Our team attaches great value to transparency”.
“Because of this, we can announce the following as a response to the adverse analytical finding of xipamide in Fränk Schleck's urine sample of July 14 during the Tour de France”.
Team spokesman Philippe Maertens briefed to Realvail.com, that Andy “was on the list of preselected riders, but he is not ready yet for such a hard race and that fracture in his pelvis is still bothering him”.
Andy has not secured any victories in the first half of the 2012 season after he has a knee operated earlier in May, 2012.
The injury prevented him from riding all the major cycling events of the year including the Giro d’Italia, Tour de France and the 2012 Olympic Games.
The 27-year-old is ranked amongst the best stage race cyclist all across the world and has proved himself on numerous occasions.
He has managed to occupy the Tour de France podium on three consecutive occasions during the past three seasons of the race.
Andy marked his professional debut with Team CSC in 2005 and stayed with the side for a period of six years.
He joined Team Leopard Trek in 2011 and was hired in the Team RadioShack-Nissan after the two teams decided to merge by the end of 2011 season.
The Luxembourg cyclist finished second during the Tour de France 2009 and claimed the top overall position at the 2010 edition of the race.
He rode brilliantly at the Tour de France 2011 but could not match the likes of his Australian opponent, Cadel Evans.
Andy had to settle for the second overall position as the Australian cyclist Cadel Evans claimed the top overall spot at the race.
The final squad for Team RadioShack-Nissan for the USA Pro Cycling Challenge include, George Bennett, Matthew Busche, Jakob Fuglsang, Chris Horner, Ben King, Andreas Klöden, Jens Voigt and Oliver Zaugg.
