how does an anesthesiologist choose which medicine to give u...and how does the hospital choose which anesthesiologist does the surgery??

  1. They are experts in the use of anesthesia. This is what they learn in school, the effects of anesthesia on the human body. You must understand what you are doing, because lives are at stake. The hospital employs many anesthesiologists and they rotate or a surgeon can request one.  


  2. Most hospitals have an anesthesiologist who works for them, and I doubt it matters which one they give you, I think the amount they give you would be a bigger concern.

  3. Traffic, the question is very complex to answer properly. They train 4 years in residency in order to know which anesthetic to choose, based on the needs of the surgery and the needs of the patient. There are too many factors to explain in this post, nor do I think you will understand.

    As far as who does a case, its just the logistics of the hospital, they are all different. Every medical center has their own system.
