Anfi Gem likely to prevail in The Animee Queen Mother Memorial Cup - Heat 1
Anfi Gem is likely to dominate proceedings in The Animee Queen Mother Memorial Cup - Heat 1 at Sheffield in England on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. The triumphant hound will get a cash prize of £200.
There will be six runners fighting for victory in the 660 metres flat race, which is scheduled to commence at 19:58 GMT. The entries confirmed are: Anfi Gem, Proper Pink, Nyla Fantasy, Luke My Lad, Stepaside Glenis and Pennys Apache.
C. Redden’s trainee, Anfi Gem, has been in sensational form over the past few months, thus the bookmakers expect him to steal the show at Sheffield today. He has not taken part in any race since December, last year, but has been setting some impressive trial
times over the past few months.
The black dog took part in an OR event at Sheffield last year and managed to win it by just a head distance. He was challenged until the end, but showed excellent stamina and skills to stay in front. He was also victorious in another race prior to that,
which suggests that he has very good momentum at the moment.
The punters will be keeping a close eye on the stats and they will be encouraged to place maximum number of bets on the favourite greyhound, who is the son of Hondo Blade out of Blue Honey and was born in June 2008.
Proper Pink, trained by A. McKenna, was out of form for quite some time, but finally broke the shackles in her most recent outing at Sheffield. She had been given a starting price of 5 to 2 in that race and no one was expecting her to finish on top of the
table.
However, the white and blue b***h performed really well, surprising one and all in the end. She was badly crowded at the start of the race and did not seem to have any momentum to challenge the front runners. Her stamina was the key though, as she bounced
back strongly to win the 660 metres race.
This performance will certainly encourage the punters to place more bets on Proper Pink, who is the daughter of Westmead Hawk out of Proper Lu Lu and was born in February 2009.
Other than the top two favourites, Nyla Fantasy and Luke My Lad might also manage to finish in top three, as they are pretty decent runners.
