Anfi Gem shines by winning the purse in the 660 meter Stayer’s race
The Betfred 1350 Shops Nationwide Stayers Stakes, held at the Sheffield on the 23rd of August, 2011, was won by none other than the champion, Anfi Gem, who has lately gave a hit in the Greyhound Stayers, on the 13th of August, 2011,
in Sunderland.
On Tuesday evening, the three-year-old black hound started his chase from trap 3. With a quick and amazing performance, trainer C Redden’s hound led the race till he reached the wire.
The son of Hondo Blade out of Blue History, Anfi Gem, covered the 660 meters distance in 39 minutes and 11 seconds. The dog, with his out class performance, won the purse of £500.
Kielduff Merc, who was the winner of the Owlerton Bookmakers Stayers - Duplicated on the 16th of August, 2011, finished second this time.
The three-year-old hound started his chase from trap 1 and ran really good in the beginning, but suddenly bumped into Anfi Gem, who led him with 1 ¼ length.
Although trainer C T Lynch’s hound continuously tried his level best to win the purse, he finished second in 39 minutes and 21 seconds.
Trainer H F Williams’s Pond Shefelia ran from trap 2. She ran as fast as she could, but suddenly bumped in to Anfi Gem and was left behind by 2 lengths from Kielduff Merc.
The daughter of Hondo Black out of Pond Shakira, was the winner of the Dunham Greyhound Center British Bred Derby Final, held on the 6th of August, 2011, but this time the black b***h finished third in the race, covering the distance in 39 minutes
and 37 seconds.
Capoley Ash ran from trap 5 and with a bad start, he was crowded in the beginning by Anfi Gem, Kielduff Merc, and Fabulous Talent, finishing sixth in the race.
The son of Kinlock Brae out of Blissful Return, Capoley Ash, was 1 ¼ length behind Pond Shefelia, covering his distance in 39 minutes and 47 seconds.
Boxie trained G J Box started his chase from trap 6. The black dog was crowded by Fabulous Talent and finished fifth in the race.
The black dog was 1 length behind Capoley Ash, covering the distance in 39 minutes and 55 seconds.
Trainer D P Firmager’s Fabulous Talent, was the last one to reach the finish line. The white and brindle b***h showed the worst performance that evening at Sheffield, 7 ¾ lengths behind Boxie. She covered the distance in 40 minutes and 17 seconds.
The total prize money was £750, out of which £500 was rewarded to the winner, Anfi Gem, where as £50 was the amount distributed among other contenders.
