The former Benfica star does not want Los Blancos to rest on their laurels in the upcoming campaign and believes they have in themselves to attain greater heights.
Real Madrid finished the 2011/12 season with the Primera Division title to boast off. La Liga title came back to the Santiago Bernabeu after a wait of three years.
Their heroic feats in Spanish top flight domestic league was much welcomed but left Madridista wanting for more after their struggles in Copa del Rey and UEFA Champions League.
Responding to questions about the recently concluded season, Angel Di Maria revealed that he is happy with their achievements for the football year that saw them break goal scoring record and total points accumulated in a single campaign.
Continuing on the topic, El Fideo revealed that he shares the feelings of the fans and wants to improve of their showings with more title triumphs in the coming year.
"I am very happy because in my second year at Real Madrid I have won the league," the Argentine international said while talking to Madrid-based Spanish sports daily, Marca.
"We did much better this year and it showed in all the records we broke, the points we took and goals we scored.”
"It's impressive. I hope we continue to grow and win titles next year."
When quizzed about Madrid’s triumph at the Camp Nou, the lean framed winger claimed that the Capital club were better than their Catalan cousins. He pointed towards the points gap in the Spanish league to make his point.
Di Maria added that looking back at their toils in the season, he can boastfully claim that Real Madrid can match the best La Blaugrana can conjure.
"We were stronger than http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 because we had a nine-point cushion over them and scored more goals," he said. "We want to continue beating records.”
"I think that after winning this league, and beating Barca at Camp Nou in the process, we know we can win any match in Barcelona."
Di Maria also took up the opportunity to talk about Madrid’s undoing in UEFA Champions League and vowed to go one better after being knocked out of the prestigious European club competition in the semi-finals two years running.
