Jose Mourinho completed his promise as El Fideo tied his long term future with the Spanish giants, securing a contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2018.
After a yearlong tug of war that started in the summer transfer window last year, Angel Di Maria finally saw his ambitions of an improved contract at the Santiago Bernabeu. The former Benfica player has been handed a contract until 2018, an extension of
two years on his previous contract.
The extension of the Albiceleste international makes him the Blancos player with the longest contract in the Spanish capital, while also registering an improved pay packet. Di Maria will not take home around 3 million Euros.
Improvement on his contact sees him overtake the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nuri-Sahin-c28251 and Raphael Varane. The aforementioned players have 2017 expiring contracts, a year less than that of DI Maria.
Madrid paid a handsome 25 million Euros two years ago to sign him, joining on a low salary packet of 2 million Euros a year. However, he was promised that he his salary would be revised if he is able to produce certain performance levels, ones that he duly
delivered at the end of 2010/11 season. .
As a result, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international started to demand what was promised stating "I am anxious to renew," last summer while on international duty with the national team.
However, negotiations with the player and his representative, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mendes-c25206, were extended without arriving at a conclusion.
The contract talks for his renewal have taken more time than necessary, Di Maria’s season in white colours have not acted as planned. The thin framed winger suffered from injuries during the course of the season, boasting of two muscular injuries.
However, with Jose Mourinho retaining confidence in the abilities of the Albiceleste star, the deadlock was overturned in favour of the exciting future prospect. Therefore, Los Blancos renewed the contract of Di Maria to reassure the player, and avoiding
any dressing room problems.
By extending the contract of Di Maria, Real continues with its policy to ensure the future of the club with the brightest of stars for tomorrow.
