"Ramirez would prefer Boston to either extend him or release him after this year, allowing him to shop himself to all suitors. He is said by some to have his eye on the Angels, whose only obvious need is for another big bat and who may have Vladimir Guerrero coming off the books after the season. An Angels person said they don't expect to make any major changes before the July 31 trade deadline."

Angels are also making a bid for Mark Teixeira.

Whats our bigger need? Teixeira or Manny?

Personally, I would want Manny instread. He is a clutch player, and we already have Kotchman who is developing more and more each season.

With Vladi, Manny, and Hunter in the Lineup, we arguably have the best outfielding power in the league

  1. they wouldnt trade manny to the angels cuz thats just like putting the angels in the world series

  2. I would have to say I want Mark Teixeria since we already have alot of old outfielders.

  3. I cannot see Manny being traded to a team that could likely face the Red Sox in the playoffs later in the year.  I agree that he will probably end up in the National League somewhere. The Angels are already a scary team without Manny and if they got him, that would be horrible for us Sox fans!

  4. this would be a good trade, and what a line up.

  5. They do not need them

THey have a stellar lineup already and the best record in the MLB

  6. would you wanna deal with someone of an ego that big....i mean come on he's a great hitter but he does whatever he wants and it's even beginning to p**s off the Boston fans....

  7. You guys should take Tex. I'm a Braves fan, and I would love to have him back, but I don't wanna pay Scott Boras in any way, so as long as Tex has Boras, we can't get him back. Tex is unbelievable with the glove, and he is one of the best power hitters in baseball. All of that mixed with the fact that he's a switch hitter make him pretty much a perfect player. Tex has made countless web gems for us this year. He has amazing reflexes, and he's only had 2 errors all year long. He's gonna get the gold glove this year. I honestly think you guys would be near unstoppable with Tex. Manny can hit pretty well, but he's a horrid defensive player.

  8. no way. they dont need him.

  9. say what?! angels don't need someone who's gonna disturb the peace

    forget it dude

although he is a clutch player i don't see him fitting with the club at all... Angels have a completely different style of winning/playing.. and unlike boston this ballclub/organization has a quiet, flying right under the radar atmosphere...

    neeexxxt!!

edit: If tex comes here then that means kotch has no spot.. I personally like Kotch's defense and his offense as well...

angels ain't broke they need a little biit of tweaking not fixing imo

  10. I don't see Theo Epstein trading Manny to the Angels.  They're both in a good postion for the playoffs and sending Manny to the Angels would only make the Angels better, something that the Red Sox obviously don't want to do.  If Manny gets traded, I'm willing to bet that he goes to an NL team.

As for Teixeira, I do see him being traded by the deadline, but from the rumors I've heard he'll be headed to Arizona in return for Conor Jackson and some prospects.  More power to the Angels if they can land him, but what do you then do with Kotchman.

I also agree with SF Giants.  The Angels already have an amazing lineup and probably one of the most underrated managers in baseball.  If it ain't broke, don't fix it.  They have the best record in baseball and are the only team playing great baseball both at home and on the road.
