Angel Garcia: I am fed up of the biasness towards Garcia – Boxing News
Angel Garcia, father and trainer Danny Garcia, in a recent media interaction, bashed the media for being biased, commenting that he does not like the way in which the American boxers are being investigated for their victories, adding that he is tired of
things that happen behind closed doors.
Garcia senior is currently aiding his son to get ready for the upcoming July 14, 2012 title-defence bout against Amir ‘King’ Khan. Angel caught media’s attention and somewhat stole the inaugural press conference by lashing Khan and pronouncing him as an
over-rated pugilist with under par brawling abilities.
During the recent interaction, Angel also shared his views regarding the upcoming Amir Khan bout in his everyday sarcastic and blunt manner. Angel was of the view that he is fed up of the biasness shown by even the respectable boxing names in the media.
Garcia Senior confidently revealed that he knows the key to nail Khan adding that the Bolton lad has never faced a guy as tough and hungry as Danny. Angel stated, “The key to beating Khan is going in there and beating the h**l out of him...this guy has never
faced a Puerto Rican in his God d**n life. He never faced a Puerto Rican hungry like Danny. I’m going to tell you the truth. No more beating around the bush. I’m tired of all the stuff that goes behind (closed doors) in boxing.”
The all irked-up boxing trainer who has led his son grab some very emphatic rather intimidating wins, shared his despise for the media who do not give due respect to the American brawlers.
While laying his emphasis on the basic difference lying between Amir and Danny, Angel commented that the whole thing is that Khan is European whereas Danny is American. Danny’s father further added that if you take a look at even some high-profile bouts
the same aspect of targeting American pugilists is quite visible.
Garcia Senior stated, “Khan is nobody. He is a European fighter from Europe. Danny is an American. That’s the point. That’s the difference. When Bradley beat Manny, they got him on national TV asking him ‘did you really win?’”
Angel whammed the media and said that it was obvious Bradley won the bout as the title was round his waist then why ask such absurd questions. Garcia senior said that the reason the media did do so was because Tim was an American pugilist and not a European.
Angel’s son Danny will collide with Amir Khan in a 12-round bout at Mandalay Bay Casino & Resorts in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
