Angel McCoughtry, Armintie Price, Seimone Augustus: Top WNBA players from 16 July games
On Saturday July 16, two games took place in the Women’s National Basketball Association WNBA. Here is a detailed insight into some of the most outstanding performances from both games of the evening:
Atlanta Dream vs. Chicago Sky
Angel McCoughtry
Angel McCoughtry had a brilliant game for the Atlanta Dream. McCoughtry tallied a game-high 24 points, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals as Atlanta snapped their two-game losing streak with a 76-68 victory over the visiting Chicago Sky. The 24-year-old forward, who is averaging 16.2 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this season, scored 16 points in the crucial second half of the game.
Lindsey Harding
Lindsey Harding was another bright factor for Dream on the night. She had 14 points, seven assists, six rebounds, two steals and a block. The player shot 6 for 11 from the field.
Armintie Price
Dream guard Armintie Price also recorded a point–assists double-double. The player scored 13 points and a career-high 10 assists. Price, the WNBA Rookie of the Year in 2007, also contributed six rebounds and two steals. The 26-year-old finished on 5 for 8 from the floor.
Sylvia Fowles
Sylvia Fowles added 20 points, 11 rebounds and a game-high eight blocks in Chicago’s defeat. She hit 8 for 15 from the field and 4 for 5 from free throw line on the night.
Michelle Snow
Michelle Snow scooped 11 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds in the fifth consecutive road defeat for Sky. The player went attempting 4 for 10 shooting from the floor.
Minnesota Lynx vs. Seattle Storm
Seimone Augustus
Seimone Augustus racked up 19 points, including 11 in the second half, five rebounds three steals and two rebounds to boost Minnesota Lynx to a 69-62 victory over Seattle Storm. Augustus stayed on the court for nearly 31 minutes and finished with a 9 of 17 shooting from the field.
Rebekkah Brunson

Lindsay Whalen
Lindsay Whalen was the third leading scorer for Minnesota in their second straight win. The Lynx point guard punctuated 13 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists in around 32 minutes of action. Whalen pinned 4 of 4 free throws in the final 36 seconds of the game to seal the victory.
Tanisha Wright
Tanisha Wright shined for Seattle in the defeat. The guard pulled out a team-high 18 points in a span of 35 minutes. She also had three assists, two rebounds and two steals. The 27-year-old player pinned 5 of 5 free throws and finished on a 6 for 11 shooting from the field.
