Angel McCoughtry, Crystal Langhorne, Seimone Augustus: Top WNBA players from July 20 games
On Wednesday, July 20, two games took place in Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). In the first game of the evening, the defending Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream won their third consecutive game, topping the Washington Mystics 86-79 at Verizon Center. Minnesota Lynx, on the other hand, cruised past Phoenix Mercury 106-98, snapping the Mercury's six-game winning streak.

Atlanta Dream vs. Washington Mystics
Angel McCoughtry
Angel McCoughtry had her season’s most spectacular night, as she racked up a season-high 33 points. She scored 20 of her points in the first half as the Dream maintained a single point advantage at halftime. The two-time WNBA All-Star also set season highs with 10 field goals and 11 free throws on 17 attempts. McCoughtry also had three rebounds, three assists and three steals.
Armintie Price
Armintie Price had an all round performance for Dream. The shooting guard poured in 12 points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and took two steals in 37 plus minutes. Price hit 4 for 8 from the floor and also pinned 4 for 5 free throws.
Crystal Langhorne
Despite of the loss, Crystal Langhorne was superb. The Mystics forward recorded a double-double with a team high 24 points and 10 rebounds. The 24-year-old finished the night on a brilliant 10 for 18 shooting from the field. In addition to that, the player also dealt out five assists and had three steals in 37 minutes of action.
Langhorne, the most improved player for 2010, erupted with 14 of her points in the opening period as Washington carried a three-point lead into the second. She hit a pair of free throws at 02:45 mark in the second quarter, to put the Mystics ahead by two points. However, she was limited to just one shot in the entire fourth quarter as Atlanta squeaked out a close victory.
Marissa Coleman
Marissa Coleman scored 21 points in the defeat. The player, who is averaging 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game so far in this season, finished on 8 for 14 shooting from the field, including 5 for 8 beyond the arc.
Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury
Seimone Augustus
The day after being named in her third All-Star game, Seimone Augustus tied her career high with 25 points. The player shot a breath-taking 11 for 15 from the field as Minnesota routed the league’s best team, Phoenix Mercury at their home.
Augustus, the three-time WNBA All-Star, also pulled down six rebounds and dished out four assists in the win.
Lindsay Whalen
Lindsay Whalen also played well in the same game and added 16 points, eight assists, three rebounds and two steals. The player made 7 of her total 12 shots.
Diana Taurasi
Diana Taurasi led the Phoenix Mercury all the way towards the close-edged game. The 29-year-old scooped 24 points on 12 for 14 shooting from free throw line to go along with six assists in the loss.
Penny Taylor
Penny Taylor was another bright factor in Mercury’s losing effort. The player punctuated 23 points, shooting 8 for 10 from the floor, also added five assists and four rebounds.
