Game-high 30 vs. Washington Mystics
On September 1, 2011, Atlanta Dream forward Angel McCoughtry chipped in a game-high 30 points but could not prevent Atlanta from falling to their first defeat at the end of their three-game winning streak. The player tallied 10
of her points in the first nine minutes of the opening period.  
McCoughtry, who represented the United States on the Pan American Games women's basketball team, also grabbed four rebounds, dished out four assists, blocked three crucial shots and stole the ball twice. The player went 10 for
21 from the field and 10 for 12 from free throw line.
“We have been taking steps forward,” McCoughtry said of their disappointing loss. ``This is just a little bump.”
Double-double vs. Connecticut Sun
On August 19, 2011 against the Connecticut Sun, in a game that lasted for overtime and the victory finally landing in Dream hands, McCoughtry found an opportunity to record her second double-double of the regular season. The player
led all the scorers with 26 points and 12 rebounds as Atlanta beat Connecticut 94-88 in overtime, winning their third consecutive game of the season. She dished out four assists, leaving her just six shy of a triple-double. McCoughtry also had three steals
and two blocks in the victory, including a crucial one at the end of regulation to force overtime. she pinned 8 of 12 free throws for her team.
McCoughtry scored 10 of her points in the third quarter as Atlanta converted their nine-point halftime deficit into a 69-68 lead at the end of third period.
“She is a winner,'' Atlanta coach Marynell Meadors said of McCoughtry’s outstanding performance. “ She finds a way to score and she finds a way to defend. That block she made at the end of the game was huge.''
28 vs. Indiana Fever
At Philips Arena, McCoughtry punctuated 28 points on 11 for 21 shooting from the floor and Atlanta cruised past the conference first-place Indiana Fever 92-90 on August 30, 2011.
McCoughtry, who also plays for the Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe Istanbul in the Euro League Women, also had seven rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in the third straight victory for the Dream. The player hit 5
for 5 from free throw line.
23 vs. Los Angeles Sparks
McCoughtry had 23 points, five assists, four rebounds and two steals in an 84-79 win over Los Angeles on August 16 at Staples Center. Atlanta’s forward went 8 for 15 from the field and 7 for 10 from free throw line.
22 vs. Los Angeles Sparks
After missing her first six shots, the 25-year-old made life miserable for the visiting Sparks, handing them their fourth straight loss on July 28. McCoughtry registered a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds as Atlanta
topped Los Angeles 89-80. She also dealt out seven assists in Dream’s fifth consecutive win.
