Swansea City defender Angel Rangel supported his club’s decision of appointing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Laudrup as the new manager, insisting that the former Mallorca boss understands the culture of football at Liberty Stadium.
The former Danish footballer was handed over the managerial seat at the Welsh club on 15th of June, after former manager Brendan Rodgers parted ways with them to take over the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 assignment.
With the Northern Irishman developing a Barcelona like playing style at Swansea and the club eager to continue with the same approach, it took them about two weeks to select the 48-year old, as they deemed him the fittest replacement for Rodgers.
Having also represented http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 during his playing days, Rangel believed that Laudrup will be cognizant of the Swans style of play, and backed him to continue on the path of their former manager.
He told the reporters in an interview, “He has been at Barca and knows the game in which Swansea is based to some extent. He knows it's complicated, but we will get there and make it easy if we all pull in the same direction.”
The defender also felt that Rodgers departure from Swansea had created a huge void for the Welsh outfit, keeping in view his remarkable stint at Liberty Stadium. However, he was relieved to see the new appointment being equally good.
With a number of Swans players having impressed in the previous season, which saw them finish the league table at eleventh place, the club now runs in the danger of losing out their star performers in the summer transfer activities to the top flight clubs.
According to some reports, their on-loan midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has already made up his mind to decamp from Swansea, and is believed to have signed a deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Nevertheless, the 29-year old insisted that even if they go on to lose some of their key players in summer, his team boosted good depth in the squad and will be strengthened further by a few reinforcements.
He added, “No one can say that everything will go well, but you have to evolve, we have a good team and I guess signings will reinforce us.”
