Real Madrid winger Angel di Maria is demanding a wage raise after a successful year in front of goal.
The Argentine international wants a new contract following a series of high level performances for the capital club. One of the prominent members of the new Galacticos, he knows his importance to the Spanish giants and wants to see his value known in financial
terms.
Di Maria has a contract until June 2016 with a stipulated 1.8 million Euros salary. However, the Argentine wants to review the deal for better economic terms.
Real Madrid representatives are currently involved in negotiations with Di Maria’s agent and have met on four prior instances.
The ‘noodle’ will want to have the blessings of Jose Mourinho, whose compliance in these matters is necessary. The Special One has a say when in comes to salary negotiations of each player.
Angel Di Maria joined Real Madrid for a reported 25 million Euros in the summer of 2010. The contract signed had a series of clauses which could raise the transfer price by a further 11 million Euros.
The clauses take into account the number of games played, titles won during the player’s stay, goals scored and international caps earned.
After a uccessful first year, the Argentine’s representative are asking for a favourable performance review, as the player earns the least among Real’s high profile earners.
The policy of the club is of equality among all players, which is usually expected near the date of the contract. However in Di Maria’s case special compensation is going to be made.

The 2011/12 season has seen him improve on his tally of the corresponding year. The thin framed winger has laid down 13 assists for his teammate, while adding 4 goals to his tally.
