Angelica Chapman wins 200 yard IM title: 2011 High School State Championships
The 2011 High School State Championships saw several impressive performances, in Auburn, Alabama, from December 2-3.
Angelica Chapman went on to win the Girls 200 yard Individual Medley title against her rivals by bashing the finishing barricade in a winning time of 2 minutes and 06.27 seconds. Meanwhile, Hannah Busk finished second by banging the finishing wall in a time
of 2 minutes and 07.76 seconds and the bronze title went to Olivia Hudson in a time of 2 minutes and 12.08 seconds.
Kierstin Page earned fourth place honour in a time of 2 minutes and 12.37 seconds, while the fifth place went to Carly Bowles in a time of 2 minutes and 12.58 seconds. Abigail Isom earned sixth place by claiming the finishing barricade in a time of 2 minutes
and 13.83 seconds, whereas, the seventh position went to Lotta Kuulasmaa in a time of 2 minutes and 15.83 seconds. Finally, the eighth place went to Lauren Kinsey in a time of 2 minutes and 18.48 seconds.
In the meantime, the Boy’s 50 yard freestyle title was taken over by Corey Holmes in a winning time of 21.04 seconds. Alex Gray finished second by claiming the finishing barrier in a time of 21.62 seconds, while the third place went to Tchaasu Taylor in
a time of 21.66 seconds. Jeffery Daniel earned fourth place honour by claiming the finishing barricade in a spot of 21.68 seconds, whereas, the fifth place went to John Smith in a blot of 22.00 seconds.
On the other hand, the Girl’s 50 yard freestyle title was taken over by Genny Pittman in a winning time of 23.68 seconds. Ashton Ellzey and Madeline Held finished second place honour by thrashing the finishing barricade in a matching time of 23.91 seconds,
while the fourth position went to Sissy Schultz in a mark of 24.22 seconds.
Grace Molyneux got fifth position in the respective race by claiming the finishing barricade in a time of 24.30 seconds, whereas, the sixth place went to Maddie Kamman in a mark of 24.67 seconds. Moreover, Maddie Wohlfarth grabbed seventh position in the
respective meet by banging the finishing blockade in a time of 24.75 seconds and Maria Reed settled eighth in 24.78 seconds.
Additionally, the Boys 100 yard butterfly title was clinched by Will Glass in a winning time of 49.38 seconds. Will Anderson finished second by clicking the finishing barrier in a time of 50.72 seconds, while the third place honour went to Kyle Simpson in
a mark of 50.74 seconds. Kevin Pollard finished fourth in a time of 51.13 seconds, while the fifth place honour went to John Smith in a mark of 51.97 seconds.
