  1. Im sure they jsut go to an orphanage like they would in any other place and find a child that's in need like any other person would.

  2. If I had the money that they do, to travel to a foreign country, hire at horrendous costs a person to do the homestudy, and all that it involves, it would be sooooooo easy to adopt.  Unfortunately, agencies make so much money, that normal people like myself have trouble finding children to adopt.

They also have so much money available to them to simply go pick out a child in an orphanage, pay for the costs to get everything done quicker, and meanwhile, before the adoption is finalized, to be able to obtain guardianship, and to have attorneys rush through the paperwork.  I haven't kept up with their adoptions a lot, however, from what I understand, they were actual orphans, whose parents are deceased.  I believe one woman did try to claim that one child had been taken from her, however, DNA tests proved this wrong.

  3. There last adoption took place through:

    Adoptions From the Heart.

    http://www.adoptionsfromtheheart.org/

I am unsure how this agency "finds" it's orphans.

  4. i think with her first son (form cambodia), she was there already doing something (not sure what) and she stumbled acrossa the orphanage her son was from. the girl form zamibia, im not sure how she found her. if she was actively looking or just "stumbled" upon her too.

her thirs child- the other little boy (not sure where hes from) i dont know either.

all iknow is that she had always known she would adopt children as well as have them. and iknow that she planned on only adopting from other countries. i think the fact that thisis what she spends her money on is wonderful and judging from pics of her little ones, she appears to be a wonderful and attentive mother!

  5. International adoption requires going through an agency and a complicated legal process.  It's not a matter of showing up in a third world country and picking a child to bring home.

(Well... Madonna's adoption leaves that open to debate, but you get the idea.)

As to how children arrive in orphanages, it really depends on the situation.  In many parts of the world, children are separated from families because of war and are considered "foundlings" (which is just what the word implies).  The hope is that the families of these children can be located and the children can be reunited.   Or, children can be orphaned due to disease.  In many places, children of HIV+ parents have a social stigma, even if the child is not HIV+ at all.   Or, children may be relinquished, due to extreme famine, poverty or for safety reasons.

Brad and Angelina went through an international adoption agency to adopt their child from Ethiopia.

  6. There is tons of orphanages in devoloping contries where children are abanded every day.

  7. Alot of 'orphans' in orphanages are not really orphans at all.  Familes will place them there, hoping it will be a temporary measure, because they are just too poor to feed the child.

I don't believe adopting them to a foreign land is in the best interests of the child.   Helping sponsoring and aid for the families would be far preferable IMHO but then the west has long exploited poverty stricken countries for their own gain and people who want the kids go and get the kids, because they can - then they want a pat on the back for it :(

No material wealth could make up for losing your family, heritage and culture IMO and unfortunately in many cases it has turned into a matter of supplying kids to meet the demand - which is why so many international adoption programs have been suspended and even stopped.  It's just a sad situation to which people seem to turn the other cheek as long as they get the 'product' they're after.

AJ's kid was not an 'aids orphan' as she claimed btw.  She had a loving mother and grandmother and was very much wanted, but they were poor and in some peoples eyes, that means they don't deserve their kid.  What a sad world we live in.  AJ could have helped that family in so many ways but instead split them apart.

  8. How she decides what countries to adopt from I’m not sure. She adopted Maddox with her then husband Billy Bob Thornton. How they decided on Cambodia perhaps they were in the country for some reason.

There was a woman who claimed to be Zahara’s birthmother but that was debunked via dna test.  Just a poor woman trying to get 15mintues of fame.  I feel an orphanage is no place for a child to grow up, Pax from what I read had been in the Orphanage since he was a baby.

If someone is a good parent their adoptive child is not going to lose their culture or heritage because it will be taught to them which will only enrich the entire family imo. If I ever adopt from a foreign country I plan to learn the language, celebrate any important holidays the country has and try and go back to my child’s native land at least every 2 to 3 years, more if the budget allows.
