Angelo Mathews ruled out – Cricket News Roundup – March 14, 2012 – Part 2
Sri Lankan all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AD-Mathews-c913, has been ruled out from the on-going Asia Cup after failing to recover from a calf-injury, which he suffered during the recently concluded Commonwealth Bank series.
The all-rounder missed the finals of the CB series, which his side went onto lose against host Australia and did not feature in the 50-run defeat suffered by his side against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in their opening game of the Asia Cup.
The Lankans have not named any replacement but will be hindered by the prospect of playing without Mathews after Thisara Perera, another all-rounder, had been ruled out due to a back complaint.

The spinner made his debut last year after impressive showings in the Champions League T20 2011 for his domestic franchise Trinidad & Tobago. He has performed well throughout the first-class season at home this term, where he is currently the leading wicket-taker
in the competition.
With a 5-match ODI series about to commence, Narine is working hard on his game and is hoping  to catch the Aussies off-guard. "We have some training sessions so I will look to work on my variations in the nets and also look to plan properly by watching
the videos and gathering details on the opposition," the spinner commented.

The team will lock horns with the Lankan http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 in a two-match Test series, starting from 26th of March, where the English players have traveled in advance to get accustomed to the conditions, which offers a lot more humidity and heat as compared
with other region.
"There's a lot more humidity and the heat is much more of a factor for us out here. Some of us have been here a week now getting used to it and getting used to the challenges,” said the skipper.
The left-hander is also hopeful in turning around his own form, which has seen him without a three-figure score from his previous 14 Test outings.
