The former Torino manager believes that the Toro defender can grow as a player, and can play an important role at AC Milan following the departure of the Brazilian.
Former Torino boss Gianni De Biasi has stated that in the aftermath of Thiago Silva’s move away from AC Milan, Angelo Ogbonna can play a vital role in retaining the defensive integrity of the Italian giants.
The Italian international played the last season in Serie B, and was also part of Cesare Prandelli’s final selection for Euro 2012.
The Rossoneri have recently finalized their deal with Paris Saint-Germain for their leading defender, and have been linked with a move for the Torino defender to fill the void left by the departure.
Gianni De Biasi believes that Ogbonna could be the ideal option for AC Milan, but maintains that replacing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Silva will not be an easy task for the Milan outfit.
The former Toro manager stressed that the centre-back has shown a lot of promise in his performances with his team, and stressed that he has a bright future ahead of him.
The current http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Albania-c2834 manager went on to state that the former Crotone player has the ability to play in different positions in a defensive role, and stressed that the player’s keen understanding of the Italian game makes him a formidable asset for any team
in Serie A.
While talking to Sky Sport Italia, the 56-year-old said:
“Replacing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 will not be easy for anybody. But Angelo will certainly have an important future. Angelo can play as a full-back or in the middle of a four-man defence. He can still improve as a player and he has the qualities to do well in Serie
A.”
The 24-year-old was raised in the youth system of Torino, and spent the 2007-08 campaign on loan to Crotone.
Angelo Ogbonna has attracted a lot of interest following his inclusion in Euro 2012, but Torino has been keen on keeping their prized defender with them to fuel their first season in Serie A in years.
However, with the desire and the newly acquired cash from PSG, AC Milan is expected to lure away the promising talent in the summer transfer window.
