Angst Ridden Movie Characters?

Question

I need help on finding movies where the main character never seems to catch a break from getting beat up, blown up, stabbed, or any other kind ofangsty goodness! It's a little class project to see who can find the most beat up main character so we can pick it apart and discuss why he (or she) shouldn't have gotten up from their most recent misfortune. Name your favorites! All help is appreciated!

Well, Serenity (2005) the crew never catches a break.

If you want angsty goodness though, try watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer the TV show.  Plus they're both Joss Whedon...who is a genius

For being beaten up etc, how about: Edward Norton’s character in  Fight Club, or Bruce Wayne in The Dark Knight, or Neo in The Matrix?  

Altho - when i think "angsty" i think ethan hawke and troubled suburban teen.

Dakota Skye-  character-Dakota Skye.

Freedom writers-  which is a very good movie if you wanted to get into a discussion about the tough reality of gang life and how hard it is for all the characters in the movie.

'Sid' from Ice age (any of them, really.)

Anakin from Attack of the clones (with hayden christiansen, not the animated new one.)

Wolverine in X-Men - great movies, but that guy always gets hurt: shot, stabbed, whatever. good thing he can heal.
