Angus Frazer wants Finn to work hard in county cricket – Cricket News

Angus Frazer, the former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 cricketer, believes that Steven Finn’s exclusion from the Test team will actually help him enhance his game in the longer run and wants the lanky speedster to work hard in county cricket.
Having picked up just two wickets in the opening Test of the on-going Ashes series at Trent Bridge, Finn was dropped from the playing-11 for the second match at the Lord’s. England won both the encounters.
For the third Test of the series at the Old Trafford, Manchester, which begins from Thursday, the tall fast bowler has been dropped from the squad.
Frazer, who also happens to be the Director of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Middlesex-c817, Finn’s domestic team, feels that getting dropped from the Test squad is a blessing in disguise for the pacer because county cricket presents him with an opportunity to regain
his form by bowling more and more overs.
Fraser said: "I know he'll be pretty disappointed. He needs to get some bowling under his belt really. He's got to bowl better than he has done and the only way you're going to improve is by playing cricket. There's only so much
good that net practice can do, you need to get in games where it counts.”
The 24-year-old cricketer came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country, having represented England Under-19s. After some impressive performances at the first-class level, Finn made his Test debut in 2010 against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747
at home.
Frazer, who was also a high-quality fast bowler in his playing days, said that some time away from international cricket will help Finn get back his focus.
"He's been in the spotlight. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 Anderson had four or five years before he really established himself as an England bowler - Steven has had quite a bit of success early on but it's just not happening for him at the moment,” he
added.
By performing well in county cricket, Finn can regain his place in the Test team for the last two Tests of the current series. However, he is facing tough competition from the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 and Chris Tremlett, who are also
hungry to cement their placed in the playing-11.
