Anheuser Busch selling out?

What are your thoughts on Anheuser Busch selling to an overseas company? I think we should boycott them. All these years they have been claiming to be America's beer. They were so successful in the United States and they sold out for money!!! What a shame!

  1. Is it Anhueser Busch selling out or are they just selling Budweiser?

I think it is a shame.

Alot of foriegn/overseas companies are coming here and buying up everything.

Also they have a brand new commercial out to that says Made in America staying in America, has anyone seen that?

  2. LMAO Drink Corona. LMAO

Anheuser-Busch owns half of that brewery. What kind of protest is that?

  3. If they didn't sell then there would have been a hostile take over, so they did the right thing by making the shareholders more money.

If you boycott them then you will only hurt the people that work for them who are still AMERICAN.

  4. So Budweiser is now owned by the Belgians

Miller is owned by the South Africans

Coors is owned by the Canadians which merged with the South Africans.

The only way to go American is to go Micro. And we all know Micro is much better.

  5. What, other countries can't try America's beer?

Plus, there are a lot better beers than Busch.

  6. You're only hurting the little guy by boycotting them. If sales drop, there goes the jobs of the brewery workers,, the delivery truck drivers, the guy who answers the phone in the order deptartment. etc.,

If not one single drop of Bud were sold in the US ever again, it would not hurt the new company that bought them. They would just close their American operations and  concentrate on their markets outside the United States.

  7. They didn't sell out they are a publicly traded company the people that own the stocks sold it the  family that started a@b each member holds 1% there is no real fight they could put up. you can boycott it but unless you want to start drinking microbrews there is no american beer miller and coors are owned by a south african company

  8. tough economy... Abu Dahbi owns the chrysler building in NY

  9. it's a sad, sad day.

  10. good news for the economy! who cares about beer when we're in a recession? Alcoholics.

  11. h**l YEAH. No more budlight for me. Now only coors

  12. Drink Corona..../

  13. It is a shame but they have been a publicly traded company for years. Chances are that many of those investors are foreign.

One thing I do love about the deal is that Anheuser-Busch muscled their way into a better deal. InBev came in with a cheap low bid and A-B rejected it. InBev then moved to have Anheuser-Busch's board removed. Again Anheuser-Busch filed a law suit of anti-trust law and unfair practices. Not only would have A-B won that saving itself but also potentially blocking InBev from being able to purchase any businesses in the USA in the future. InBev seeing they were out played decided to deal and gave the A-B board and its shareholders a huge bid. Done deal. Nicely played A-B. American win again. Look for the A-B people to control the board of Anheuser-Busch InBev.

  14. Get over it, aside from Zeiger Bock, i've never had a Bud that I would get again.

  15. dsadasda

  16. Why else would you sell out if not for money?  Of course they did.  They built up a fantastic business, and then someone else offered to pay them more than their wildest dreams for it.  Of course they're going to sell out.

Why is it a shame?  The operation of the breweries won't change appreciably.  The beer that is brewed won't change.

I wish that some foreign company would come in and purchase the business that I've worked hard to build up.  I'd sell in a heartbeat, and celebrate the financial freedom that allowed me to do whatever I wanted to do.

If you want a global economy, then you should be open to anyone on the globe participating in the economy.
