Animal Crossing Wild World Nook's Shop

Question

I just upgraded to Nookway, but I have a question that's been bugging me! Let's say I spent 65,000 Bells at Nook's shop to upgrade to Nookway, does it continue to raise the Bells or do I have to start over at 0 Bells until 240,000 Bells to upgrade to Nookington's? I upgraded from Nook's Cranny to Nook n' Go on the 5th, Nook n' Go to Nookway on the 7th, now what? Yes, my friend has bought something from Nook's shop.

The number of bells you've used at the shop just continues to rise, it would be crazy to start all over again. I'm pretty sure Nookington's is next for you, good luck! :)
