Animal Farm help please?

Ok I've been working 2 days on these 20 questions for Animal Farm and there is only 1 question left:

What emotions did the story illicit from you as a reader? Were you values affirmed or challenged? Explain.

Now, I don't understand the first question and what the world "illicit" means. So could you rephase the question to help me understand better.

OMG if your teacher wrote "illicit" in that context s/he should not be working in a school. That is really bad.

i haven't read animal farm, but another meaning for illicit

{unlawful or Illegal or not permitted}
