  1. any company that makes pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, cosmetics or food additives--by US law--must test those "products" on animals prior to making those products available to the [US] public. most other nations have similar provisions.

i definately know mars, hershey and nestle contract work out to an r&d company that tests food additives on animals--i know the director who manages those contracts.

  2. Iams and Eukanuba are owned by Proctor & Gamble.. a company NOTORIOUS for animal testing.. they also own crest, Febreeze, and swifer...

many companies DONT test their final product on animals.. but DO test their ingredients.. they use clever lableing like "This product not tested on animals" to confuse the buyers...

here is an interesting link if you care about animals you will want to read it...

  4. Oh sure.  Open the floodgates for all those peta jackasses to complain.

Not that I'm for unethical treatment of animals.  Its just anyone affiliated with peta is a jackass.

  5. Yes, Mars tests on animals. So does Proctor&Gamble- big time. They make everything Most cosmetics except for Revlon, Avon, Estee Lauder and Sorbonne.

    1. It's not required by law.

    2. There are viable alternatives to animal testing.

Monkeys, cats, rabbits, dogs, mice, rats - all suffer terribly.

Go to www.peta.org. They have a pamphlet on companies that do and don't test.

    Thanks for caring!

  6. Well about half of what Mars Co sells is pet products, so yes they would use animal to test those products.  So what?

There are many companies that use animals in testing or research.  Almost every major university in the USA does also.

Edit:  Warning, PETA lies.  They are clueless, they know nothing and they are terrorist.  Please find other alternative for information regarding animals.

  7. A candy company? Why would they test on animals other than humans?

  8. As far as I know, Mars does not test. I think they only make food. Here is a list of companies that do test.

Thanks for caring about the animals!

  9. yeah, they do.

the other companies can do things from cutting the animals, caging them, and starving them. the animals can feel pain, lonliness, sadness, and many other feelings.

go here: http://www.peta2.com/alp/index.asp to learn about how animals are killed in factories and how they are tested on.

    AND MRS. BALE:

just because mars makes food doesn't mean they don't test on animals, are you stupid? seriously. they test different ingredients on them

  10. they test everything on amimals because they think animals are not people like us, but they are they have fealings too. Most companys do it and theres nothing we can do about it

  11. OMG ... why the alarm, if it weren't for animal testing you wouldn't be alive today, specially if you were born via C-Section... god I hate people that over react about these situations. Sorry I didn't answer the question though, many people before me did.

One think is true about all LEGITIMATE animal testing... its done on clones bred SPECIFICALLY for testing.
