Assuming you are talking about people with other game cartridges over wifi or ds to ds connection, the only thing that is different with the people's house is the size and the roof color, otherwise they are all the same. At the beginnning of the game your roof color is chosen by what color the background to your ds is. And if you were meaning can two characters in the same game have different houses, the answer is no. You are doomed to have a roomate whether you want one or not. If you have only one character in the game then you get the whole house to yourself but the advantage of having more than one character is that you can get more songs from K.K. Slider on saturdays.
