i recently watched an american video on youtube from peta called meet yor meat, i was wondering if the same sorts of things happen in england,any links would be appreciated

  1. Unfortunately, "food" animals are treated similarly in England. Here's a fact sheet about factory farming in the UK:

    -More than 70 per cent of all eggs produced in the UK come from birds in battery cages.

    -Around 800 million ‘broiler’ chickens are killed in the UK every year, with almost all being raised by the tens of thousands in huge, windowless sheds.

    -There are nearly 600,000 breeding sows in the UK. Less than 30 per cent are living outdoors.

    -One good thing: Veal crates are banned in the UK. However, imported veal from countries that use veal crates remains legal.
