  1. a rhino?

  2. Lions, spotted hyenas and crocodiles are all known to kill African elephant calves, and by working together lions can take down adults - a few years ago in Botswana I saw a pride of 26 lions kill an adult elephant. In Asia, tigers sometimes take elephant calves, and even sub-adult animals if they're sick or injured. If you're talking about healthy, adult animals facing off one-on-one, only another elephant or a human with a gun would stand a chance.

  3. A human with a gun.

A human with a plan and time to make a trap.

I think anything else, even a group of hunting lionesses, would just get stomped on.

  4. unity is strength!

a group of lions some times kill them

  5. In Africa...  due to their size rhino (plus horn), hippo (plus tusk) and of course other elephants.  If they have backup lions have been known to bring down elephants.  I have seen video of a croc that got its jaws around a baby elephant and was working on killing it, but the herd came fast enough to save the baby.

In Asia... rhino and if it is a smaller or sick/injured elephant a tiger might have a chance.

  6. yes, man, bullets

  7. A healthy full grown elephant is going to have no natural enemies other than man.

A pack of lions could take smaller elephants, but don't think they could tackle a large one.

A large elephant would kill a rhino.  No known cases of a rhino killing an elephant, but there are cases where elephants killed a rhino.

There was a great older movie that had a fight between an elephant and TRex, and the TRex won.  But no TRex alive today.  Ha.

  8. A lion can kill an elephant if it needed to.

  9. the most famous one i can think of is the king cobra, no lie. no matter where you look it usually says that thy can take down a single full grown elephant with one bite. they live in the same places too! just look it up. i bet it'll say somethin about that. laterz

  10. I would say a pack of lions or hyenas but it has to be a pack. So a lone animal I would say off the top of my head would be a.... You know what i don't think that any animal could without getting a good beating. So a PACK of lions could but other lone animals I dont think.

  11. Yankeefan. He meant land animal. A whale shark is not a land animal.

  12. whale shark, because the elephant would drown underwater,

Rhino, because it could charge an elephants blind side and knock them over, never for them to get food or water again.

Man, because of all the new weapons we invent everyday, imagine a laser guided missle against an elephant.

  13. As you specifically mentioned an elephant sub-species, an Asian elephant or African forest elephant of course has a good chance. Both a rhino and a hippo would at least stand a chance. All carnivores (including the Kodiak and Polar bear) are simply not large or powerful enough to have a chance. The next set of contenders would be some bovines such as water buffalo and the gaur but large and powerful as they both are, the elephant would be too much.
