Animals usually store their extra energy in fats. Plants store their extra energy in carbohydrates and oils. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type of storage? Relate energy storage to niche.

  1. I think you've asked an "apples and oranges" type of question here. That is, I'm not sure about the relevance of comparing the storage mechanisms of plants and animals, at least not from the perspective of advantages and disadvantages. Clearly, each system works for the respective groups, and these systems evolved under the constraints present in each.
