I remember watching this Japanese style animated movie where this girl was in space or something fighting aliens and there was this one scene where she is nude and jumps into a swimming pool. It was a good movie but forgot what the name was.

It could have been Gunbuster, which is a 3-parter.

Great earth vs the aliens story, and there's a nude swimming pool scene. Another possibility is Project A-Ko, there's a scene where B-Ko is bathing in a giant swimming pool.
