if i save them to my computer then open them, it shows a still picture, and has a drawer that opens showing each frame of the file. but it doesn't move. is it supposed to be like that? why doesnt it move?

i have a mac osx, running 10.3.9, if that matters.

[also, if anyone can tell me... if i set a saved .gif file as my adium icon, will it be animated? or will it be a still picture?]

THANKS! <33

  1. Ok... I will tell you first that I have never owned or run a Mac, so my answer my be totally wrong (Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

I have found that GIF files are animated in a program that runs GIFanimation files, I believe they should also run in your internet browser. So, if you don't care to purchase (or even download a free program) that will open and run these animated GIF images... use your internet browser to view them. You may be able to associate the GIF extension to your internet browser (at least I know it is possible in Windows PC's, it should also be possible in Macintosh).

As for your second question, I do not know if the image will be animated or not... perhaps you can try it and see. If it does, great! If not, then hopefully you can choose a different icon to use as your admin image.

Hope I shed some light on the topic... Please, inform me if my suggestions are incorrect.
