I grew up watching it!

Growing up, I watched kids shows like: Chibi Maruko-chan, Doraemon, Ojamajo Doremi, Cardcaptor Sakura, and a little bit of NGE, though it damaged me, mentally...well, I was only 6,7...and there are other shows as well, it sucks that they don't air some of these shows in the US, at least there's Pokemon =P

Yeah, I didn't grow up here..

I grew up with it.

I was like in Kindergarten when i watched my very first anime and I think it was Voltes V.

Next Doraemon.

Then Yuyu Hakusho.

After that:

Fushigi Yugi

Lupin III

Magic Knight Rayearth

and so on.

Since then I've watched over 100 shows.

I think anime are like drugs that you just can't get enough off. But without the Rehab thing and not to mention that it's free.

when brother was like 8 ( i was 4 then)

He got me Into The 2 first animes that I've

ever seen which was sailor moon and Dragon ball Z =D

And ever since I just took it from there

And 10 years later i've seen over like 30 animes not very many though

for being 10 years but at the age of 9 is when i started to really watch other ones^-^

So thats my story.

Naruto.

I never really cared for anime but one day, after many persuasions by my anime master friend, I finally started to watch Naruto, the first episode and up. Now I've finished Shippuden (await ep. 72) And much more animes I've finished and loved. I will watch till I die!

It was eleven one night, and my mother went up to bed. She must have been very tired, because she asked me if I wanted to go to bed or watch some more TV. So I decided to milk it, and just surfed the channels until I found something that looked cool. Then, I stumbled upon it...

Inuyasha!

I saw the first of two episodes, decided that I had nothing better to do, and chose to watch the second. After that second episode, I nearly died waiting a whole week to see the next episode.

And I couldn't stop thinking about it.

So there you go.

Ah! I forgot about nine years ago! I-like many of the other people who answered (thanks! I almost forgot! Out of sight, out of mind...)-watched Sailor Moon a lot as a kid. I watched that show religiously basically (lol). I can even remember being five years old, and there being a marathon on. But my mother wouldn't let me watch it, so I locked myself in my room for about two and a half hours crying. Kinda weird, but still....

Well I'm not sure if it was the game Kingdom Hearts, or if it was when I was looking for a certain "piece of art" and found Deviantart. And when I found Deviantart I saw allot of things about Death Note at first so I wanted to know what it was, and well it just snowballed after that.

My best friend had me read fruits basket when I was in 5th grade, then I was like HMMM I LIKES THIS!! and became addicted... Myd ad was freaky over protective so it was a little later that year that i was allowed to watch Pokemon (sweatdrops) and I read CardCaptor Sakura.

But now I've watched maybe... 40 different animes ^^

I'd say sailormoon... it started when i was a kid.

And  of course the "Gundam" saga ... Gundam Wing is the best! the Wing Zero and Tallgeese and Deathscythe are awesome (yes, i'm a girl :P)

Hunter X Hunter was definitely 1 of my faves growing up. Killua and Hisoka are the best characters. i wish they'd finish the series.

Now I'm watching Naruto

my cousin. =]  hes my roll model and when i found out he was into these japanese cartoon things (anime)  i thought id try watching some and started reading manga.  now im in love with the stuff. lol.  maybe not that much but its always fun to read or watch it every once in a while. ♥♥☺

The first anime that I've ever started watching was Pokemon (I think -_-). That was in 2nd grade. I used to hang out with a bunch of people (Austin, Zachary, Jasmine, etc..) and we used to always draw anime during recess. We were all into pokemon, with all the cards and stuff, and maybe they were into other anime, I don't know. Then I left the school after third grade ended and kind of left anime, you know. At least pokemon. I mean, I was one of most BIGGEST pokemon fans there ever was :o I'm sure I saw a few anime movies or so between then, but I don't remember them. After that, I became a huge fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Then in January, my friend Jasmine got me into Gaia Online, which was a big anime site. I was still clueless about anime and that kind of stuff until the end March, when Spring Break began. I bought the Claymore manga, first volume, and then I read the rest of the manga online. After that, I decided to read Naruto. I heard it from somewhere before and I knew a group of these kids at my school were into it so that's why I decided to read it. After one week (Read ALL of the chapters :o) I started watching the anime. Then here I am now :D Big Anime/Manga fan! But since it was only April that I started getting into it, I am still a newbie :P But now I think I'll be into anime forever ;P

P.S. Wasn't kidding about being a huge pokemon fan. I have over 600 cards (Still) and I memorized ALL of the pokemon names (Up to 3rd grade -_-)

definitely my sister. she got me into Fushigi Yuugi at the age of like.. 10? :| ahah. from then to now, i've watched that series like 4 or 5 times. that's when i really got into anime. but before that, i used to watch Pokemon. :D haha. oh yeah, and there was the occasional Ranma. hehe.

Hehe, all the mainstream stuff. Dragonball, then Pokemon. That was about 10 years ago, but I still mostly watched dubbed anime. Eventually I watched Naruto in the past years and got into subbed anime. :)

My older brother (and I love him so much for this) got me majorly interested in DBZ. I watched it on toonami, and its timeslot was replaced by One Piece(Naruto came right after) and so I watched those, then a weekly update was too slow so I switched to the japanese and now I'm back to weekly stuff V_V but Its ok because I love them both. I also read the manga now! yay for my older brother! I'd kiss the ground he walks on but he's moved out >__> blast.

It all started with Cartoon Network, when they used to air Toonami. Dragon ball Z and Sailor Moon had me going as a kid. I also used to watch Card Captors (Card Captor Sakura) on Fox Kids every afternoon after school. =D

The first anime I ever saw was Pokemon back when I was still in elementary school. Then onwards while it was being shown on Saturdays on Cartoon Network where that was the same time other "shows" of the same style were being played- which I didn't know the common terminology at the time for these animated shows. Later onwards I got more of an interest in mechanical things and I noticed that these two shows "G Gundam" and "Zoids" were being played and were shown not too far after Pokemon was played. Since they are both mecha animes and I liked anything mechanical it was only natural that I really got into those shows. Later onwards I started to get into computers and the internet where I discovered TONS of these animated "shows" and later learened they are called "anime". And I just kept getting intersted in more than just mecha anime and my interest in this media just kept expanding.

As curious as I was as a kid, I'd like to watch anything colorful, and something that I can laugh. I got into anime when I watched Inuyasha. I was angry at my mom for missing a movie on ABC channel 7, and I decided to channel surf. I stumbled upon AdultSwim on a Sat. night, and watched Inuyasha. I totally got hooked, and my sister watched it with me. She almost wanted to change to the channel to Disney, but got interested.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. It was on Nickelodeon (maybe still is.) It's American Anime but it was kind of my "gateway" show that got me interested in more authentic anime.

My insomnia is what got me into anime.

When I was 8 years old I woke up one day at like 3 in the morning, and I turned on the tv and found Akira.

I was blown away by the artwork as well as scared by the movie itself.

When I was 10, I discovered Sailor Moon being shown at 5:30 in the morning (there's that pesky insomnia again)

My love affair has grown since then.
