Anime Versus Japanese Schools?

Are they really like anime? Are they big buildings with lots of windows and the main character always has the desk next to the window? Do you have to wear uniforms like Lucky Star? Just asking...

Uniforms vary from school to school.  Most have more conservative uniforms.

Buildings... kinda.  I'd imagine that there's alot of variation, as not all schools are the same, no matter where you go.

Main character... lol.  Yes, always be sure to make good friends with someone who has a window seat...  You can't go wrong.

Though about 95% of Japanese life is missing from Anime.  It's like learning about English culture from watching Dawson's Creek or whatever school sitcoms we have these days.
