Newcastle United versatile midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486, has expressed confidence ahead of his side’s upcoming English Premier League game against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday, December 26.
The former Ajax Amsterdam star, who arrived at St James’ Park before the start of the ongoing 2012/13 season, has admitted that it will not be a walk in the park to claim a good result against the mighty Red Devils. However, the Dutchman has insisted that
his side must have faith in their abilities if they are to achieve a point or more on Boxing Day.
“It is very tough but we must believe in ourselves and what our strengths are. You go into games and just try to enjoy them. We know they are good players, so we must go there and have fun”, Anita was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The 23-year-old, who was with the Amsterdam giants when they claimed a stunning 1-2 victory against Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men in a UEFA Europa League game last term, went on to reveal that winning at Old Trafford is very special.
“I was involved with Ajax when we did that this year. I have won at Old Trafford and it was a nice feeling to win there – hopefully we can do it again”, Anita added.
The highly influential midfielder further revealed that the Amsterdammers’ fans helped them claim victory at Old Trafford last term, and has expressed confidence that the Magpies’ crowd can do the same on Wednesday.
“I know they can do that too. Let’s hope they can and we in turn can get a good performance and a good result”, Anita concluded.
The Dutch international, who represented Ajax in well over 100 games in all competitions during his seven seasons stay at Amsterdam Arena before moving to St James Park this summer, has thus far staged impressive displays while wearing Newcastle colours,
and would be gunning to put in another solid performance to help his side claim a favourable result on December 26.
