Newcastle United’s versatile summer signing Vurnon Anita is ready to serve as the club’s emergency right back as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew prepares for upcoming fixtures in the midst of an injury nightmare.
Newcastle are currently without the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Simpson, Ryan Taylor, Fabricio Coloccini and Cheick Tiote. The latest addition to this list is that of first choice goalkeeper Tim Krul, who recently injured his elbow while training with the Dutch national
squad.
Alan Pardew faces a crisis as most of his first choice players are sidelined. Coloccini and Krul sustained their setbacks during the international break, something which Pardew had been really concerned about.
Already without his most important players, the manager had voiced his concerns going into the international break. Losing two more right before the domestic season resumes this weekend will seriously prove to be a challenge going into the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019
on Monday night.
Luckily for the Magpies, they have versatile http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486 to count on. The Dutch midfielder/full-back joined the club from Ajax in the summer as Pardew’s last summer signing.
Anita, who primarily operates as a defensive midfielder, displayed his diversity by being deployed at left back in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa. With James Perch also out injured, Newcastle will have to depend on the player once again to play as a fullback.
Anita recently spoke to the club’s official website and said that he has no problems with playing at the back, and is ready to help out in every way possible. He said:
"We have got two injuries on that side, so if the manager needs me on that side, I will do my best for the team. It went well against Aston Villa. As a right-back you can come forward a lot, so I did that also and yes, I think it was a good performance.”
"Central midfield is my position, so the main focus is on the midfield, but if the manager needs me on the right side, I can also play there."
Speaking about the upcoming game against Everton, he added:
"It's a good opponent to play against and we are playing away, so we must be prepared."
