Anjaz to follow the set precedent in the Sky Bet Mobile EBF Fillies’ Stakes (Handicap)
The Class 3 Sky Bet Mobile EBF Fillies’ Stakes (Handicap) has brought together a line-up of twelve three-year and above runners who will invade the mile, two furlong and eighty-eight yards track on Saturday, 28th July. The prize money at stake
today is £9,704.
The 3 to 1 entry for the race, Anjaz, is unbeaten in the two outings of the 2011 season and is in for the seasonal debut today.
The American bay filly won the 32 For Bingo EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes on 22nd August, 2011 at Kempton over a mile. The Saeed Bin Suroor trained joint favourite was paired up with jockey, Ted Durcan, for the race. She got on to tracking the leaders,
met a little obstruction three furlongs out, and burst into speed for taking over the final two furlongs of the race. Leading the final furlong got her the race by the margin of 2 ¾ lengths.
Finishing the race right after the winner was, Albamara.
Street Cry’s three-year-old daughter did not wait for a second chance to clear the maiden rather set sail for future races by making the most out of her career debut.
The next stop for the three-year-old was in the Stratstone Endurance Nursery on 10th September, 2011 at Doncaster over a mile. Sent as a joint favourite for a straight second time, the bay filly out of mare, Playful Act, did not speed up right
on after breaking from the fifth gate.
Under the guidance of the champion jockey, Frankie Dettori, Anjaz progressed smoothly with a little more than two furlongs still to go. She was threatened as the final furlong was approaching and clashed with the reeling in rival, Burano, inside the final
furlong winning the race by the margin of just half a length.
Coming at terms with the third position was, That’s Dangerous.
The Darley bred will need to look out for, Hippy Hippy Shake who has broken through the maiden just recently and thus is in a threatening form.
Anjaz will get paired up with the Godolphin stable jockey, Frankie Dettori for a second time and the duo will break from the fifth stall.
