Ankle injury: Tennessee Titans list WR Kenny Britt questionable for Houston Texans game – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans have listed wide receiver Kenny Britt as questionable for the Houston Texans game this Sunday (September 30) after his return from an ankle injury to take part in full practice on Friday.
Kenny has not ruled himself out of the game, boasting to have made very fast progress in the recovery but the team does not see the player hundred percent and therefore has listed him as questionable.
It was Kenny’s first full workout after he missed three straight training sessions since suffering the ankle injury last week but in spite of his claim of gearing up for the weekend game, the possibility of him being on the sidelines is also there.
Meanwhile, linebacker Colin McCarthy will be out of the side, also with an ankle injury, for third consecutive game this weekend. His injury is rather serious, a sprained right ankle, which will certainly require a longer period for recovery and rehab than
Kenny’s injury.
Kenny is rather unlucky to have spent most part of the past season and missed the entire offseason programme and training this season with an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) he suffered during the 2011 regular season.
He also served a game ban imposed by the National Football League (NFL) over his arrest on driving under influence (DUI) charge in August this year. Now the ankle injury, although not a serious scare, is another hurdle in his career progress.
The Titans’ receivers’ situation is not an ideal one and they need a player like Britt on the offensive line with new offence leader quarterback Jake Locker in charge of the starting responsibilities.
The team is 1-2 in the American Football Conference (AFC) South division behind the leader Houston Texans and a win on the weekend shall help them consolidate their position on the points table. Their other divisional competitors Jacksonville Jaguars and
Indianapolis Colts also have a win each.
Britt’s return should give required boost to the receivers’ group and at the end help the offence leader.
