Ankle injury forces WR Kenny Britt out of Tennessee Titans next game – NFL News
The Tennessee Titans are to suffer another injury blow with confirmed absence of wide receiver Kenny Britt with an ankle injury in this weekend’s game while their first-year offence leader quarterback Jake Locker is already out with a separated shoulder.
Kenny has not returned to practice this week at all and now has been included in the weekly potential absentees list with respective injury scares. He suffered an ankle injury in the last game and is still very much in the phase of recovery and rehab.
This will be his second missed game this season as he was also not available for a game earlier owing to the one-game suspension he was handed down by the league office over his arrest on driving under the influence (DUI) charge last month.
Britt’s current recovery status has not been confirmed officially by the team so the information around the prospects of his possible return to action is down to unconfirmed media reports.
It is even not clear if the player has suffered a high sprained ankle, and if so he might be out of the squad for a longer period and miss a few more games.
This should not be a good development for the player given he already missed most part of last season with a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) and Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL).
He had returned just at the start of this season and played a pair of games before hitting the sidelines again with the ankle injury.
Also, the player has recently struggled to get through some off-field difficulties because of his own stupidity. Although he was arrested and charged with DUI, he was lucky to get away with an attempted trespassing of a military establishment gates in the
drunken state.
Britt has also been lucky to have escaped a possibility of a harsher disciplinary action by the National Football League (NFL). The office was satisfied to ban the player for a game only and then the Titans took him back straight into the squad without taking
any action over his off-field troubles.
Apart from the injury issues, the player has now vowed to pursue his career with full focus and without indulging himself into off-field unusual activities.
