Ankle pain on standing. Any ideas?

I get pain in the front of my left ankle when i stand up. I don't remember injuring it in any particular way, and it doesn't bother me after the initial 30-odd seconds, but it's a really sharp pain. Sometimes I get a pins and needles feeling in the same foot. Anyone have any idea what this might be? It's been going on for about 2 months now, but I haven't really thought it was serious enough to see a doctor. Any help would be much appreciated! :D

My father gets the same thing & he has diabetes. He has to watch his diet & wears these support socks which help him. U really should C a doctor who can correctly diagnose u coz it could be a number of things.
