Question:

Ankle sore after martial arts training.?

Hi there,

I've been training martial arts for about 4-5 months.

I used to have knee soreness, but I guess my muscles became stronger and the knee soreness went away.

Now I'm having ankle soreness. What can I do about that?

I use thick socks, but other than that, I can't think of any other way to overcome it.

No i don't want to take that glucosamine.

By the way, I sweat buckets during training. Recently as the training becomes more intense, I had a cramp. I guess I'm losing a lot of minerals from all that sweating. My other question is, how can i replenish this naturally.

No, I don't want to take those salty water like 100 plus.

Thanks in advanced.

  1. ankle braces, the good ones, with the velcro straps that overlap and wrap around...if you cant do them, get ankle sleeves and tape over them for added support...

try to drink a little more water before you train, but give yourself a little time to let it sit...if your cramping your drinking too much while moving too much...drink it before the workout and take as small sips as possible during it...also try eating healthier foods the days you train (what i try)

bananas, fruits, fiber, wheat bread instead of white, water instead of soda...etc

  2. hey there buddy, you should be taking glucosamine condroiton as it is what the body needs for the joints. You shouldn't deny yourself the vitamines and minerals you need to live a long and healthy life.

Replenishing your lost stuff naturally means eating a healthy well rounded diet. If you don't get that go to GNC and get some multi-vitamines. Two of those a day will give you the vitamines and minerals you need to charge forward!

Eat some bananas too that will rid you of the cramping. K is the element.

    Edit-

Here read this. It might help quell your fears of dependancy.

  3. well its only been like 5 months so ull eventually get in shape and get in the rythym of the class...

as for sweating and cramping ..make sure u drink a lot of water all day everyday it keeps ur body hydrated and will keep u from crashing or getting cramps in class

also a healthy diet is good

im a karate instructer if u were wondering about my advice

oh and the sore on ur ankle could just be u getting calises from moving ur feet on the floor

    or its just sore haha

  4. It might be something just as simple as a sprain you should elevate and ice the foot when you don't have practice and se how that does for you.
